Dr. Nick N. Gorgani, BE, MBBS, MS Drug Dev, PhD
Inventor, Founder, President and CEO
Nick spearheaded OzStar’s project from its inception to product launch. He is a dynamic leader with over 20 years proven track record in pre-clinical and clinical development from concept to product launch. He gained multidisciplinary training spanning from chemical engineering to medicine to immunology and to industrial drug development. He is a immuno-pharmacologist with expertise in in-vitro and in-vivo studies in animal models of inflammatory and autoimmune conditions. Nick has led numerous classes of patented discoveries in infectious disease and autoimmune fields.
Throughout his career Nick has received numerous government and institutional awards. He is a clinical senior lecturer at the School of Paediatrics and Reproductive Health, University of Adelaide and at the Department of Medicine, University of Sydney. He has trained a number of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and examined a number of PhD and Master’s degree thesis and peer-reviewed manuscripts for world-leading scientific journals.
Nick has over 13 years of corporate building and management experience. He is an accomplished team builder and strategic planner, seasoned in selecting and managing contract research organizations, academic institutions, and global R&D partnerships, in collaboration with executive team members, to strengthen the company capabilities.

Ms. Wendy Free
VP, Regulatory
A quality assurance and product development professional with over 30 years’ experience. Highly experienced in research and technology transfer and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Wendy has been instrumental in the fruition to manufacture and commercialisation of numerous medical products, traditional medicines and vaccines. She maintains a large network of professional contacts and represents industry on four professional committees.

Medical Physician for 25 years. Ten years experience in biotechnology commercialisation from molecule discovery to marketing. Led phase 1 to 4 clinical trials. 20+ years experience in molecular biology. Inventor of a novel cancer biomarker and diagnostic.

Mr. Dave Simm
VP, Marketing
Extensive experience in leading the launch of anti-diabetes treatments. Dave is a healthcare marketing and sales leader with eighteen years in VP/director-level roles. His diabetic marketing experience includes 8½ years as the marketing lead for several products, including Diabeta®, a branded sulfonylurea, and Zeramax™, a medical food. In addition to startup company experience, Dave has extensive experience in new product commercialisation, having launched nineteen healthcare products (branded drugs, lab tests, and Zeramax™). He has been the marketing lead on six healthcare co-promotions, and has hired and developed high-performing sales and marketing teams. He has managed products and product lines with annual revenues of $5 million – $850 million, and has managed promotional budgets from less than $1 million to over $100 million. Dave also has ten years of healthcare sales and sales management experience, during which he grew his individual territories to over $2 million each, and his district territory to over $15 million (adjusted).
Dave has a B.S. in Economics, with majors in Finance and Marketing, from the University of Pennsylvania, and a M.B.A., with majors in Marketing and Corporate Strategy, from the University of Michigan.
